Troyes, France

An hour away by train east of Paris is a small town called Troyes. We didn’t have any idea about it until our friend Hannah brought it up and invited us for a weekend trip. An hour later, we arrived at the train station without any expectations.

Having visited multiple European cities and small towns, I guess it’s because of that, we are not totally overwhelmed by the medieval vibe of the town anymore. However, surprises are still there. Well, maybe if you don’t set any expectations, there will always be room for surprises.

The medieval old town features narrow, cobbled streets lined with colorful, half-timbered houses, mostly dating from the 16th century. But what fascinates me was the calmness of this town. It has a relaxed and chill vibe. Or maybe it was just because it is a small town. Or I had a good meal? And good sleep? Or no life problems at that time. Aaaahhh shit… this blog just made a sharp turn into the abyss. 😛

Anyway, there’s more to France than Paris. Troyes is one of them.
