La Rochelle: Long Time No See, Sea

La Rochelle is a coastal city in southwestern France and is only an hour and a half from Poitiers. For the sole purpose of wanting to see the sea, we went to the city for a day trip.

Since it is a coastal city, it is also expected that they have really fresh seafood and there’s no way we wouldn’t try it. We had fish and chips, oysters and some shrimps. As expected, it was really good and totally worth it.

We walked around the city for only a few hours and spent the rest of the afternoon sitting on a bench watching the tide rise. I don’t know why but there is something in the sea breeze that’s effective for destressing and relaxation. If only I could swim at that time but it was not an option. 😛
