Étretat, France

When you talk about white cliffs facing the ocean, I can immediately think of places I’ve seen on the internet such as in the UK. But Iris knows more and she’s been talking a couple of times about the one in Étretat. As I’ve mentioned from the previous post, you might be able to recognize it if you’ve seen the episode on Lupin.

It’s just a small town but surprisingly full of tourists. You are allowed to swim in the ocean (English Channel) at your own risk or climb up the cliffs and take pictures from above. There are signs warning tourists not to stay at the edge but of course, tourists (being tourists) mostly ignore these warnings. Having fear of heights helped us to stay on the safe side. 😛

We literally stayed there for just a couple of hours because, one, there’s nothing else to do there and second, if we miss the bus going back to Rouen, we have to stay one night in town to wait for the next bus the next day. It’s best advised to rent a car so that you’ll manage your own time.

Overall, it was a nice short experience. And as mentioned many times before, I am a sea person and if you talk to me and “accidentally” mention the word sea? Stop talking. On y va !
