Around Paris on Holiday Season
For our Christmas holiday vacation, we stayed in Paris. Thanks to our good friend Hanna, who let us stay at her place, we were able to save some of our expenses. Within our two week vacation, we went to Strasbourg, Bordeaux, and Disneyland. Thus, Paris was strategically perfect for us. While we were there, we managed to explore around Paris.
We went to grab some hot wine and tasted some French delicacies at the Christmas market together with our friend, Bere. Took some pictures at the Louvre. Checked out the colorful Christmas tree inside the Galeries Lafayette and went up to the rooftop to see Paris from above.
We walked around Eiffel Tower at night, just like the scenes of those romantic movies. But it was freaking cold, so yeah… not what we had expected.
We went up to Sacre Coeur since it’s just next to where we stayed. Passed by the Place du Tertre where artists gather and display their unbelievable artworks. Sacre Coeur is one of the highest points in Paris. If you want to see the endless horizon of Paris, this is one of the best places to go.
The New Year countdown was tempting. And who wouldn’t love to see it in person when your only memory of watching it was through TV on the other side of the world. However, we decided to stay. The Gilets Jaunes protests were active that time. We thought there were a lot of things that could go wrong. Better safe than sorry. Maybe next time. 😉
Overall, we had a good time. No one got sick. Well, I did but I managed. 😀
