Rouen, France
Located northwest of Paris, Rouen is a port city of the river Seine. The city has Gothic churches such as Saint-Maclou and Saint-Ouen, and a cobblestoned pedestrian center with medieval half-timbered houses. But probably, the city is mostly visited for its Cathédrale Notre-Dame, much-painted by Impressionist Claude Monet and the Le Gros-Horloge, a 14th-century astronomical clock set on a Renaissance arch with detailed carvings.
This is just another one of those weekend trips we had, thanks to the well connected railway networks in France, city like this is just few hours from Paris. As usual, Iris did all the planning while I just tagged along. >.<
The main reason why we stayed in Rouen was its accessibility to Étretat, a coastal town north of France. If you’ve seen the French series Lupin, you might be able to recognize it. But we’ll talk more about it on another post. 😛
Anyway, Rouen is a small city and with limited time, we just wandered around taking pictures, getting lost a little bit on narrow streets, and comme d’habitude, looking for food.
