Randomness Around Paris
RATP, the public transport operator in Paris, stopped its operation most of the time in the last quarter of 2019 until early this year. Because of this, you’ll often end up walking long distances around for sightseeing which is what we did. Along with it were fun experiences and exhausted legs.
One of them was the pickpocket attempt. We were walking towards the Christmas market with our backpacks when we noticed that there were two guys behind us trying to unzip one of our bags. Good thing Iris was quick enough to turn her back and for a split-second, there was a confusing awkwardness between us and them. And then they took off as nothing happened. And we realized, yep, just like home. ๐
Another thing was my first-time experience with Grande Roue de Paris or the Ferris wheel. I am not a big fan of heights, especially dangling 60 meters above the ground. It was one of those experiences where one is enough. ๐
We also stroll along Champs-รlysรฉes, where you can find the definition of capitalism. ๐ If you’re into buying expensive luxury stuff, you belong here. One thing that caught my attention was inside the Apple store. I saw a young girl bought a brand new iPhone with cash. While she’s counting, I noticed an old lady next to her whom I assumed is her grandmother. Of course, I don’t know their story but I just can’t help to picture out the situation in my mind and it’s a pity. Or maybe I just saw too many shit stories on the internet that lead me to this conclusion. Ooooorrrr… I’m just jealous because I can’t afford to buy an iPhone. *cries in silence*
Overall, we had fun. We went home tired, exhausted and starving. o.O
