Ghent, Belgium

Upon arrival in Ghent, we’re greeted by the tantalizing aroma of chocolates (yeah, chatGPT exaggerates sometimes). The city is a paradise for chocolate lovers, with numerous artisanal chocolatiers offering mouthwatering treats. We are not really chocolate people but we gave in. We bought couple of chocolate bars, specially those lactose free ones. Ghent’s beer scene is equally impressive, with cozy pubs (one of which is literally adjacent to a church, coincedence?) and beer houses inviting us to sample a wide variety of brews. Cheers to that!

As we explore Ghent’s picturesque streets, we notice something refreshing – despite the crowds, the city maintains a relaxed vibe. We wander past medieval architecture, charming canals, and bustling squares, enjoying the atmosphere without feeling overwhelmed. Ghent knows how to handle a crowd without losing its cool.

Ghent embraces its quirky side, adding a playful touch to the cityscape. Quirky street art surprises us around every corner, from amusing statues to witty murals that bring smiles to our faces. Ghent’s charm lies in its ability to blend eccentricity with a laid-back attitude, creating a unique and enjoyable experience.

Our day trip to Ghent is a lighthearted journey, filled with chocolate indulgence, beer appreciation, and a relaxed ambiance. Ghent’s ability to offer a perfect blend of culinary delights, quirkiness, and a laid-back atmosphere sets it apart. As we bid farewell to this vibrant city, we carry fond memories of a fun-filled day in Ghent, where chocolates, beers, and a relaxed vibe reign supreme.
