Kasprowy Wierch: Hiking Through The Snow
On the first week of March, Tymon organized a trip to Zakopane, a hiking and ski destination of Poland. The trip was only over the weekend, spending the first day on hiking and skiing on the next day.
I was a little hesitant in joining the hike because I didn’t have proper gears. I was afraid that my shoes might get wet, which is obviously one of the worst things that could happen in the middle of the snow. However, I always believed that doing things that you haven’t done before is always good. Especially if it looks like FUN. As they say, dive first, ask later. So I did. 😀
We’re supposed to rent spikes for better grip but the shop ran out of stock. The first part of the hike was manageable since the trail is fairly paved. It became tricky after we were out of the woods. I was very careful with each step because falling over on a steep slope is the last thing I wanted to happen. I did slipped a few times but I was fine. It got more slippery as we approached the summit. After 4 hours of slow-paced hike, we reached the summit. Kasprowy Wierch is on the mountain range that divides Poland and Slovakia. So, it feels like hitting two birds with single stone. #trabilGoals Even though, technically it was not. 😀
We spent few hours at the top and had our lunch there. Although it was a bit expensive, I thought I deserved a big meal after several hours of struggle. 😀 We took the lift going down because I can’t walk for another 4 hours on a slippery with improper boots anymore.
We arrived home dead-tired (well, specially me) and took a nap. The next day is going to be another first time: Ski. :3
