Sydney, Australia

Sydney was the third city we visited during our two-week vacation in the land down under. I think most people, if not everyone, would agree that Sydney is the first city that comes to mind when someone mentions Australia. So, we couldn’t let the opportunity pass. Plus, one of Iris’s closest friends lives there, and she hadn’t seen her in a long time.

Sydney gave me a homey impression. I’m not sure if it was because I have family there, or maybe because it’s close to the Philippines, both geographically and in terms of time zone. Or perhaps it was the lack of a language barrier? Or simply the fact that I’ve always wanted to go there? I’m not sure. You know that feeling when you visit a place and think, “Yup, I could live here!”? That’s Sydney for me.

Anyway, enough with the daydreaming. Before we met Iris’s friend, Phoebe, we did the classic touristy things. You know the drill. 😉 We also met Iris’s cousins, who gave us a little tour around the city and treated us to a fancy steakhouse to cap off the day. No complaints there. 😉

We only stayed in Sydney for a couple of days due to time and budget constraints.
Nevertheless, we enjoyed it so much that I sent out a few job applications to Australian job sites in the weeks that followed. Unfortunately, I haven’t heard back from them. 🙁

We flew back to Brisbane to pack up the rest of our stuff before heading back to the Philippines. If there’s a recruiter out there who randomly stumbled upon this blog and happens to be looking for someone willing to relocate to Sydney, the answer is YES!
