Singapore

Singapore has long been on my list of countries to visit. Last year, I had the chance to go there with one thing on my mind: food. Everyone I know who has been to Singapore told me that the hawkers are a must-visit, and they didn’t disappoint. The hype met my expectations to the point where I brought jars of kaya back to France. Iris has a work colleague from Singapore who recently visited France, and yep, we asked for kaya. 😉

Another thing that lived up to the expectation was the humidity and heat. I told myself that I was prepared for it, but damn, it was humid AF. I was sweating as soon as we got out of the hotel. The only upside was that, unlike in the Philippines, there’s no smoke pollution from the cars.

We stayed a couple of days in Singapore and met up with friends, Kristy and EJ. We did the regular tourist destinations. I even received a little surprise cake from the restaurant where we had dinner at the top of the Marina Bay Sands, which was nice.

Before we left for Brisbane, we met up with Iris’ cousin to have dinner at Satay by the Bay before settling at the Gardens by the Bay to wait for the light show. After it, we had to call it a night to get some rest before our early morning flight to Brisbane.

Foooood, again. If I remember it correctly, this is a Malaysian dessert. Kinda like Philippines' halo-halo
